why don't you have a pen/marker tool that you can write/draw freehand on the charts?

A complete freehand drawing would be immensely complicated, inefficient and not workable with the types of charts that Sierra Chart has. Sierra Chart does provide Tools >> Marker to place various types of markers on the chart. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Why not just a multi-line (continual line draw mode) feature? You already draw lines from point A to point B. Why not from point A, to point B, keep in draw mode to Point C..... to Point N. In a CAD system these types of line drawing tools remain active until the user presses enter to end the point input process. As a consideration, once you now have an array of multiple points, instead of simply connecting point to point, you you can utilize a B-spline algorithm to smooth it out. Having just the point to point to N-point drawing capability would be very helpful to me. I find it strange how you say it would be ineffective. That seems very dependent on how you trade, how you think and how communicate trading ideas with others. |

The Point-to-Point drawing type you describe is available. It is called "Zig Zag" in the Tools menu. Refer to the following: Chart Drawing Tools: Zig-Zag For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
