Is there any way to reference data in the Numbers Bar Calculated Values Study - Pullback column - and use it in an alert formula? ie. id10.sg1[p]
I understand that the data will disappear on the close of the bar.

No there is not.

It is only accessible using ACSIL:

You can reference both pullback columns in the Numbers Bar Calculated Values study, SG37 and SG38, by doing these two things:
1) Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings tab >> Historical Pullback Data >> Reset...
2) Analysis >> Studies >> Numbers Bar Calculated Values >> Subgraphs tab >> SG37/SG38 >> set Draw Style to Visible.

Actually thinking about this some more, this may actually be true but you would have to use a bar index reference which is one bar forward.

Like SG1[1].

And you do have to enable the Historical Pullback Data in Chart >> Chart Settings:
Chart Settings: Historical Pullback Data (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Data >> Chart Data menu)

Thanks Tom and Support, but I would like to reference to "SG" numbers other than SG 37 + SG 38. ie - I would like to use the AskV%-BidV% that is shown in the pullback column in a Color Background Based On Alert Condition.

I am using the following formula - (id2.sg1[1])>0 as an alert formula. Is this the correct formula as it highlights the previous period?

Please comment on the above formula

We just had time now to test this and we can see that a forward reference beyond the last bar in the chart does not currently work, but this will be supported in the next release.

Does this feature work now? I would like to use the data in the pullback column for alerts. Am I able to compare data from different rows? For instance, if I wanted to create a formula to compare the ask volume at the high to the ask volume at High minus 1. I tried to use AVAP(H,1) and AVAP(H-(TICKSIZE*1),1) hoping that it would recognize the pullback column as a future bar but it doesn't seem to be working. Is there a way to get the pullback data to a spreadsheet maybe? Please advise. Thanks.

We have the ability to reference the pullback column in the simple alert formulas in the latest revision of 1717. Update to the latest prerelease and test.

I tried it and I can't seem to get it to work. Am I able to reference bid and ask values within the pullback bar? Say I wanted to create a simple alert for when the 2 bid prices in the following example are equal. Is this the right formula?:

=BVAP(H-(TICKSIZE*1),1)=BVAP(H-(TICKSIZE*2),1)

I'm using a value of 1 to represent a future bar or the pullback column but the alert isn't triggering. Please advise. Thank you.

Just to make sure you really have the version with the change, update to prerelease 1719:
Software Download: Fast Update

We will also do some testing.

You are able to reference the total volume, bid volume and ask volume of each price level within the pullback column.

We did identify a problem with the implementation of referencing the pullback column and it will be solved in the next release.

Has this been resolved?

How can you reference the AVAP/BVAP by tick on the Pullback?

I want to reference the values on a Numbers Bar study/chart.

eg. Check value of AVAP and/or BVAP at H and/or L + and/or - TICKSIZE*n on the Pullback bar

So you want to use these in an Alert Formula?

If so, the documentation explains here how to do this:

Yes, I want to use them in alert formulae and CBBOAC studies.

However, I can't get the formulae to recognise OHLC levels in the Pullback bar. It seems to only recognise an actual value.

For example:
If you want to look at the ask on the high of the current bar it would be: AVAP(H,0) or alternatively AVAP(ID0.SG2,0)
To go one bar back, it would be AVAP(H[-1],-1) or AVAP(ID0.SG2[-1],-1)

But I can't seem to get the info from the Pullback bar using various combinations of 1, -1, [1], [-1].
Bizarrely though, I can get the bid or ask if I state the price but not an OHLC ref nor a study ref: AVAP(4200,1)

Is this correct or can it be done?

It does work, but what you have to keep in mind is that when you use a relative value with a bar offset, the relative value refers to the original bar (not the offset), so you get the value of the offset bar at the level of the relative setting from the original bar.

For example, if you use the following formula:
=BVAP(H, 1)

You will get the Bid volume for the bar 1 forward (The Pullback Column for the current bar) at the High value of the current bar. If there is no data at that level, then you will get a result of 0.

Any particular reason referencing H or L and offsetting to the pullback bar, couldn't return the high or low of the pullback itself? Seems inconsistent that this is the case going the other direction, but not for the PB bar.

What we state in post 22 holds true in general, it is not just for the pullback.

Right, I understand that. But for example you can do BVAP(L,-1) and you will get the BVAP at the low of the last bar, no problem. But if you do BVAP(L, 1) you will NOT get the BVAP at the low of the PB bar (unless it is also the low of the current bar, that is), because it uses the current bar's low instead. This seems inconsistent, if one takes the PB bar to in fact be a "bar". I have workarounds for this but, it just seems like an inconsistency to me.
