Hello SC team - so far I have been using your traditional way of using "remote data" to bring up the chart and using the local trading symbol for trading.

I would like to switch to DTC mode to see if I could do the following.

Went through the doc listed at this page - http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DTCServer.php#UsingDTCServerForDataAndTradingInAnotherSCInstance

But there are few questions remain.

- I would like to use the data/trading from service - A (say CTS as an example)
- I would like to use the trading only using service - B (say IB as an example) and data needs to come from the above CTS instance.

So far the steps followed - in the CTS instance enabled DTC protocol server with listening port 11099 & historical port 11098.

Assuming I would have to configure second instance with "DTC Sub-instance". Is this the correct assumption? If so where do I fill-in the IB account details in this sub-instance?

If this is not a correct assumption - would you please let me know how to go about this?

Thanks

What you want to do is not supported using the DTC server.

It simply is not supported and will not be.

Thank you SC team.

Would continue to use the traditional way - open the symbol from remote instance & using the local trading symbol for this purpose. Assuming this is the supported configuration.

From the link below - you mention - using remote data file is no longer supported. Does this mean old way of using one instance for data & one instance for trading (different data provider) is no longer supported or am I reading it incorrectly?. Both these services would reside on the same machine (not remote). Would you please confirm?

The following instructions explain how to set a chart to reference the local chart data file instead of a remote chart data file from another remote copy of Sierra Chart. This information is here because some users may be using the no longer supported remote chart data file feature.

Thanks
