Confused about data feed from Interactive Brokers vs Sierra Charts Real-Time data feed

I have two symbols for trading oil: "USOIL" and "CL-201608-NYMEX". Until now both give me perfect results in real time trading and I don't mind using one or the other.

The problem comes when I start using the study Numbers Bars and I realize both symbols give me entirely different results. I'm reading in different places over here that IB data feed is problematic and inaccurate and Sierra Charts Real-Time data feed is much better.

Q1: The symbol "CL-201608-NYMEX" comes from IB, right? Is "USOIL" a symbol from "Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange Data Feed" or not? I'm confused about this because I know it doesn't come from IB and it gives me real time data but I'm not paying for it. So where does this data come from?
So then which one of these two symbols is accurate for using the study numbers bars?

Q2: How about other symbols in CFD like XAUUSD and XAGUSD? Is numbers bars reliable on these symbols?

Q3: If I start paying a monthly subscription for "Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange Data Feed" then I will get new symbols for trading oil and metals? And these new symbols volume data will be more accurate than the actual symbols I can trade right now?

Thanks in advance =)

For actual oil trading you need to use the futures contract which is CL-201608-NYMEX.

1. Yes. USOil is a FXCM CFD symbol and it cannot be traded. You need to use the Numbers Bars study only on the futures contract symbol.

2. Not really.

3. The symbols will not change but the Futures data will come from from the SC Exchange Data Feed. The volume data will be accurate in this case.

I see. Do other brokers you support have reliable data feed for Numberbars etc? I'm actually thinking about changing broker. Could you advice me a good broker for futures and forex trading?

Numbers Bars does work with Forex and CFD data, but the accuracy is generally questionable. No matter what Data or Trading service you are using you will not get a better result.

For futures trading, you can look at CQG and CTS trading platform services:

We do not recommend specific brokers.

Ok thanks... I already subscribed to SC Exchange data feed. I have a question regarding forex now.

What symbol would you advice me to use for trading forex, EUR.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO or EURUSD? In other words: which data feed do you think is better quality for forex, IB or FXCM?

For trading you need to use:
EUR.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO

Well I know I can either use EUR.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO directly or use EURUSD and write EUR.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO on "Chart Settings -> Trade and Current Quote Symbol".

But my question is more about technical analysis: drawing trendlines, volume, etc... I know there's probably not and objective/absolute answer to this question but I would like to know your honest opinion. Which data feed do you think is better quality for forex, IB or FXCM? If you had to use one of them which one would you choose?

Actually, we forgot that you can do this:
or use EURUSD and write EUR.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO on "Chart Settings -> Trade and Current Quote Symbol".

This is a good way to do it. And the recommended way because the historical data will be much more reliable and complete.
