I want to display the day's current gain loss for an instrument on a chart. For example the chart of the YM wold show +76. I've dried to create this bud using the Study Difference of the Daily OHLC high and low, but this is the daily range. Is there a study that would achieve this? Or suggestions on how to create it. Thanks |

Did you want to see this just as text on the chart or as a line?

It appears that study collection 40 does not compute correctly for ES, YM, and NQ futures where the new day starts at 1800 eastern. Is there a fix for this? thanks |

Yes you just need to set the chart Session Times appropriately: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_SessionTimes.php Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. How about REAL help - like an example of session times for the ES CME NY time . I have no idea how to figure out how to set this up. Help please. PS Real world examples should be in the documentation! |

Apologies but I got to get this off my chest. This total exercise started with my desire to simply display the Net Change from Previous Close for the ES, NQ, and YM. One would think that this would (and should) be a Sierra standard indicator. But, I got to fiddle around with user contributed studies, and then find that I've got to experiment with session times. And maybe, after another 2-4 hours might have the results I want. Really ridiculous. Boo on Sierra. Nothing personal Net Change from Previous Close for the ES, NQ, and YM. must be standard indicators. |

Actually what you are looking for is already on the top line of the chart. It is the Daily Price Change: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_WorkingWithCharts.html#RegionDataLine Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Yes, the change for the day is up there. All I wanted to do id to have it appear in a text box that I could locate on the chart in a larger font. Is there a way to reference it and place it in a Text for study box? |
