Hi,

I am using Sierra Charts on three computers. Not at the same time when I am trading of course. I am getting difficulties when I try to update to 994 on two of my PC's, one with W7 64 bits and the other one XP 32 bits.

Strange that it goes well on my third PC, also XP 32 bits.

Please, can you help me.

Regards,
Johan

Yes, we can help you. However, we need to be clear about what the problem actually is. After you update, does the version change to 994? Or what exactly is the problem.

I fixed the problem on my W7 machine, unfortunately I didn't on my XP machine. The system told me, look at the attachment, there is something with a 16 Bit MS-DOS subsystem? What's this??? I tried everything, also uninstalling of everything and deleting also all references in the registry, no success at all.

Believe me, I have a lot of experience with computers but for now I don't have a solution.

Please, can you help me?

Johan

Make sure your System is up to date, and that you have the latest version of .net 4 installed.

You can also try to use the "Non-.NET/CLR Version of Sierra Chart", which can be downloaded from here:

Hello, I did almost everything trying to resolve the problem but not succeeded...... Deinstall and re-install all frame network versions on my XP computer. Still the message in this topic as you can see in the attachment. Of course I tried also the suggestions you told me to do. There is now also version 996. I now have also problems to update again on my W7 computer.... In the past I never had these problems. You changed something I read somewhere, maybe this could be the problem? On my Windows XP machine I can't install net framework 4.5, this is not supported. I am getting very frustrated, is there anybody who can help me please?

Regards,
Johan

What did we change? We have not changed anything that would cause a problem like this. Only the very opposite. We have been removing external API components which would make something like this even less likely.

So you have tried the non-CLR version of Sierra Chart? This is what we recommend using.

If you are running any antivirus, anti-malware, or firewall software which is from sources other than Microsoft, then completely and totally install those from your system. Most likely that is the source of the issue.

We do not have anyone else reporting problems like these.

No, I don't have tried the non-CLR version on my XP machine. But I have also problems now on my W7 computer trying to update from 994 to 996. Maybe it has something to do with the following : I am a customer of Transact Infinity, when I am starting the program of my broker, SierraCharts will start automatically. What do you think? What about your text of the anti-virus.... I am using this for several years and always the same. No problems at all. I am using Norman and when I shut down this program and firewall (!) the problems still remain.

Possibly. The way to test this is to install another copy of Sierra Chart on your system. You can place it into any folder and try starting it. We also recommend trying the non-CLR version to see if .NET is the problem.

Hi, I hope I can explain the situation. Please, help me if you can!

I found something, maybe this is it but I don't know how to resolve the problem. I tried to install another copy of Sierra Chart but not succeeded. However, on my third computer, also an XP everything goes well ! When I am trying to update on this computer the file for updating is placed in the right folder with approximately 19 MB. On my other XP I am getting an error as I told you. On my Windows7 there is nothing happening but no update.... On both computers the update file for updating (SierraChartSetup.exe) is only 2 Kb!!!!

I tried to be smart, I copied the file with 19Mb to my XP with the problems and clicked on it. It looks everything goes well but when I start Infinity AT with automatically start up Sierra Charts no version 996 but still 990........

It has everything to do (I think) because I am a customer of InfinityAt with automatically starting up SierraCharts but................

Why does everything goes well on my third computer with XP and it doesn't on the other two?

Maybe you have a solution? As you read, I was thinking to be smart with copying the file to the other XP and tried to install but also no suc6 because I have to login SC after the update but I don't have to do this because everything goes automatically for me.

Please help!

Regards,
Johan
