I've gotten the firewall rules open so we have connectivity to Sierra Charts via our socks proxy. I am using version 1354. I also use a socks client so as to route the traffic through the socks proxy. When I try and login with the socks proxy i get a Sierra Chart Login Error: Timeout error. There was no response.

However when I do a telnet it works fine.. I.e the telnet sessions goes through successfully and then disconnects as Login not detected. The ip and ports i have opened are as follows:

8.18.161.131 and 8.18.161.133 and ports 80, 443, 10048, 10049. Can someone please get back to me on this. Thanks so much for your help.

You have to allow the IP address of SierraChart.com: 5.9.8.236

And depending upon what services you are going to use, there are other IPs and ports. But we can get to that next.

Many thanks for that port information. Would you mind sending the full list of ip's and ports sierra charts uses, so we can get everything opened simultaneously. It's quite a lengthy process internally so would like to just go through the process once.

Thanks again for all your help.

What Data or Trading service are you planning to use Sierra Chart with?

Sierra Chart works with so many external services, that there is not an easy answer to this. It is inevitable for it to be a multistep process.

1, 2. The IP addresses for these domains:
ds3.sierracharts.com
ds4.sierracharts.com
ds5.sierracharts.com
ds6.sierracharts.com
ds7.sierracharts.com

The above servers and ds01.ddfplus.com on port 80 for historical daily data. There could be other addresses for historical daily data but we do not know all of them.

3. You have to contact your broker about this.

You also need to be aware that sometimes these addresses can change but very infrequently.

It is going to be safest to allow all of these ports for each IP:
443, 10046, 10047, 10048, 80 , 10149.
