Hi,
My Infinity account representative, Marco, forwarded this response (to a problem I am having) from your support desk:

"If he did not save these changes on logout this could have taken place. Or if he just made changes to a default chartbook and did not save or did another install the default chartbook would be reset. The best solution would be contact SC directly to see what exactly does or does not happen during his modifications to any chartbooks and how to prevent any changes going forward. Follow the instructions below top open a dialog with Sierra Support."

Let me see if I can summarize the situation as it happened this morning. After signing in to my trading account this morning, I first encountered an unexpected message about the ICE charges (not your problem area), which took a while to work through. Finally the program loaded. I must mention that the trading dome was successful in loading correctly. Instead of a three screen layout of charts opening, only the basic main screen loaded with no charts. It was as if the whole program defaults had been reset. In the area, after you press "File", that shows all the charts that you have used in the past, it was totally blank. I was able to manually find the directory and my set of charts. Under Global Settings/General Settings, the files to open on start-up was blank. Under Data/Trade Service Settings, the Time Zone had been changed back to "0". Under the Trade tab, the Trade Simulation had been turned on. Under Tools, the Crosshair had changed to Pointer. The preset time values for applying to charts (1M,1H,Dly) had been reset to only the defaults, I guess, as the special time periods that I had added from time to time were gone. Also, the green box that has what I think has the references to the data coming in, that constantly changes, was on the left, where before it had been on the right and one row lower than the bar with all the buttons, etc. I think that, so far, that is all that I have found.
Nothing was reinstalled...program, etc. and no changes to the charts were made the last trading day. If I had made NO changes to any of the charts, or program settings in the last session that the program had been open, even if I chose not to save as I exited the program, shouldn't that same set of charts, settings still be there?
***I just tried a test with reference to my very last question*** I had corrected all the changes that I had found. I exited the program, saving the changes, restarted the program, everything ok, exited the program (no changes made) and did NOT save, restarted the program and everything still ok.
So what happened? Was there an update made to the program by you in the last couple of days?
Thanks for any help.
Cliff

It sounds as though the main Sierra Chart configuration file was deleted for some reason.

Also this is an indication that you were running a significantly older version of Sierra Chart and that you had updated:
was on the left, where before it had been on the right and one row lower than the bar with all the buttons, etc.

Sierra Chart does not update itself. It requires that the user manually does this through the Help menu. Refer to:

There are backups of the main/global configuration file. Refer to the instructions here:
