See attached.
E21 = H23-H21

Now highlight row 20 by clicking on row header. Right click. Insert Row.
Now E21 is E22. E22 should be = H24-H22, but it is not. It is still = H23-H21

We will have a look at this, but from what we see, this is probably a design decision how this currently works. So this would not be considered a bug but we will confirm that.

It is not expected that Insert Rows is a frequently used operation with Sierra Chart spreadsheets.

I am simply basing my expectation based on say, Excel. Not being able to add / delete rows would make it very hard to use for most people. as we can not anticipate in advance what we need and how it evolves over time. Thanks.

Any update on this? I have found that inserting rows does not behave as expected, I.e., the top rows are reset back to the usual 3 and I lose any formulas and changes made in row 2 and 3 as soon as the sheet updates.

It still blows my mind that Sierra just decided to dump Excel and replace it with whatever they got here. Like just give us DDE or RTD and let us users decide what to do with it.

We are not fully understanding post #5. What exactly are you doing? A screenshot will also help.

And when using the Spreadsheet Study, row 2 contains Subgraph titles which are automatically set.

Also refer to the documentation for this Input setting:
Spreadsheet Study Inputs: Formula Source Sheet Number

Post #6 is a misunderstanding of fact. Sierra Chart has always provided built-in spreadsheets, and Excel has always been secondary and very problematic. The interface that Excel provides is basically true garbage. And Sierra Chart has not provided any technical support for the Excel interface for something like 7+ years now. And Excel was never supported with the Spreadsheet System for Trading study. Removing support was the only thing that could be done.

The input setting you refer to allows me to change the sheet number, but nothing about the row number for input. I'm dying to have another row above the data for notes and comments.

Speaking of comments, is this supposed to be a way to add a custom header or description? There's no New Comment, only Edit Comment. I've also added comments but then lost them because they are hidden unless I pick the right cell and toggle Show Comment.

No comments are not for a custom header or description. Here is the documentation for them:
Spreadsheet Menu: Spreadsheet >> Edit Comment

. I've also added comments but then lost them because they are hidden unless I pick the right cell and toggle Show Comment.
There is a marker at the lower left of the cell indicating there is a comment. The color can be change to something more bright and noticeable.

Thanks. So where would you post notes, descriptions and additional information in the spreadsheets?

Well that is what Comments are for. But it is not meant to be creating a custom header but thinking about you could effectively do that by enabling the option to show the comment in the cell which makes it visible like the value of the cell.
