Can you please check that your software is applying the correct formula for the TRIN Market Statistics calculation.

For one thing I certainly believe the documentation INCORRECTLY describes the formula (Sierra Chart Market Statistics: Symbols).

Here are three external references for the formula which are all the same and are different to your documented formula:

http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:technical_indicators:trin

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRIN_(finance)

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/arms.asp

So naturally I wondered that if the documentation is wrong, is the actual software formula also wrong as I am not getting plots for the S&P500 TRIN that you would expect for the price movement ie what these external 3 sites suggest TRIN should look like in certain market conditions.

Thanks

The documentation explains the formula in 2 places and in one place it was incorrectly stated but it is now corrected with the correct formula as actually implemented.

We have examined the calculation method in our software and it is correct.
