Over the past handful of months, there have been a few changes with the program that are particularly frustrating.

I store all of my chartbooks in Google Drive so I can easily share them and be able to use them on different computers. The first frustration is the new navigation. I used to have the ability to have a shortcut to my Google Docs folder on the left pane and could quickly access my chartbooks. Now I have to expand, expand, expand, expand...you get the point.

The good thing is that for subsequent chartbook openings, it remembers the path. The bad thing is that when you Save As a chartbook, the path is not persistent. That would be frustration two.

Number three is around the same topic of opening and saving files, there is a text size setting that is making the text of the listed files enormous and difficult to read. I cannot resize that window in any way for better viewing. See https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5074496/SC.png.

Lastly, I have the Auto Snap on Create/Adjust button on my toolbar. It used to show depressed when enabled but now it doesn't.

I truly appreciate all that you guys do. I hope this feedback is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions.

This will not be supported:
I used to have the ability to have a shortcut to my Google Docs folder on the left pane and could quickly access my chartbooks.

The standard operating system File Open/Save dialogs do not have the performance or the reliability that Sierra Chart requires. While this tends to be a rare problem, in some cases opening those dialogs would cause an exception on the users system and terminate Sierra Chart.

This will be saved in the next version:
The bad thing is that when you Save As a chartbook, the path is not persistent.

The text size is controlled through Global Settings >> Graphics Settings >> Fonts >> Text Windows.

I have the Auto Snap on Create/Adjust button on my toolbar.

Not sure why this button actually exists when there are separate buttons for Auto Snap on Creation and Auto Snap on Adjust. The most logical thing is for us to remove it because it really is kind of odd to implement when there are already these existing commands. So do not use it and instead use the individual ones.

Thank you!

What about entertaining the idea of having a DATA_HOME setting where we can tell Sierra Chart where we want the default location of our Data folder to be? That way it would always default to it when opening and saving chartbooks. This would certainly make it easier to copy other settings over to other computers we work from as well.

Anyway, food for thought.

Actually we just figured out the proper solution to this and we are solving it now:

Lastly, I have the Auto Snap on Create/Adjust button on my toolbar. It used to show depressed when enabled but now it doesn't.

Since this command does not exist on the menu, initially we thought it did not have a proper straightforward solution. But there is.

We assume you are aware of the Data Files Folder setting in Global Settings >> General Settings. Eventually we will separate Chartbooks into its own folder.

You would assume wrong :-).

I should have looked to see if that was even an option but didn't.

Thank you for pointing that out to me and thanks for addressing the issues that can be addressed programatically.

I look forward to the updates!

AWESOME! I don't want to sync across GB's of scid files.

It would be great if you could put all of the files as it relates to custom settings (toolbar buttons, font size, colors etc...) in a separate directory as well. This would make it incredibly simple to put these configs on cloud storage to be used on other computers as well as if you rebuild your computer, you can just copy one directory over to restore your look and feel.

The global settings for Sierra Chart are stored in Sierra3.CFG file in the main Sierra Chart folder.
