The suggestion is to add the Simple Stats Mode:

It should calculate mean and stdev for that area based on every tick.

Then it should draw three lines mean, mean + stdev, mean - stdev.

It might be more useful and fast then original VbP, imho.

Also the best way to use it to add five lines:
-mean
-mean+stdev
-mean+stdev*2
-mean-stdev
-mean-stdev*2

- for a selected area as it is for Draw VP function
- for any given chunks in a time: every X minutes/seconds

I'm ready to spend that 50$ from my Additional Services Balance
and to pay annual subscription for package 3

with best regards

It would be good to be able to draw/choose custom areas using that Simple Stats tool
and another every X minutes/seconds based study with package 3.

The idea is to use price only based systems.

And it is important to use an every tick to do that stats.

Thnx.

To clarify, so you want these calculations performed on the volume data for every trade?:
Also the best way to use it to add five lines:
-mean
-mean+stdev
-mean+stdev*2
-mean-stdev
-mean-stdev*2

So for example if there are 100 trades across a selected period of time, for the first one you would want the mean volume of those trades?

No.

It is not about volume.

It is about pure price value.

4exmpl:

we set the period as 30 seconds

999 trades during that 30 seconds

we need mean and stdev for price values for that 30 seconds

every 30 seconds

Is it clear?

Thnx.

OK we will see about adding this as additional functionality on the Volume by Price study. Otherwise, it is far too involved to be creating another tool and that would be out of the question.

We will have a look at it in the next few days.

No need to waste the time in case you don't want it.
Just say No.

I will be fine in any case.

In order to keep it actual and fair for both of us:
The suggestion is valid until the end of this year.

Thanks for your understanding.

OK but it is not likely we would get to this until January. But we will see.

Certainly the ability for the Volume by Price study to support time frames under 1 minute will not be done this year.

We should be able to work this in before the end of the year, but as I said, getting the Volume by Price study to work under 1 minute might take a little longer but we will see. Might be a simple change.

In version 1343, we have released this functionality with the Volume by Price study. This version will become available in about 20 minutes.

You will notice a new Study Input to enable this and new Subgraphs.

Let us know if you have any questions. We have activated your account for 10 days for testing.

The next step is to support Seconds based time frames with the Volume by Price study. That will come in the next couple of weeks.

we have released this functionality with the Volume by Price study.

I've checked it and the numbers are looking good for time-based charts above 1 minute.
good result.

That will come in the next couple of weeks.
Yes, obviously it should work for any kind of charts (range, renko and so on).

We have activated your account for 10 days for testing.
The test was done successfuly. So, feel free to remove this ability right now.

Let me know when the job will be done in order to test it and make the payment.

With best regards.

Actually, if you set Volume Graph Period Type to "Multiple Profiles Fixed by Bar Count" and set Number of Bars for Fixed Bar Count to 1 or whatever you require, then the Volume Profiles will based upon a specific number of bars so you can use them exactly on bars that do not have a fixed amount of time.

But we will be adding the capability to base Volume Profiles on the specified number of seconds.

Do you mean the numbers for mean,+/- stdev should be accurate as well for the Range bars and other types of non-time based charts in this release?

Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
It depends, certainly this is the case for manually drawn Volume Profiles and when the Volume Profiles are based upon a specified number of bars.

It is only the case where you want to have Volume Profiles repeating at a regular interval based upon a fixed amount of time that seconds is not currently supported. The minimum unit is currently Minutes.

1. Set a chart as 1-minute
2. Set VbP for every 10 minutes
3. Change that chart to Range Bar
4. Check the numbers.

It were not the same in my tests.
