Follow the instructions here to update Sierra Chart to the current version:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#FastUpdate

It should not be occurring under any condition but possibly in the version you are running there is some unknown problem we are not aware of.

If you have been seeing this for a while, you should have immediately let us know about it.

Let us know if you still see it after updating. If so, then follow the instructions here:

Actually that message does not look like it is from Sierra Chart but another program on your system.

If you acknowledge that message box, then Sierra Chart would shutdown if it is from Sierra Chart. So if Sierra Chart is not shutting down, it is not from Sierra Chart.

So therefore, there is some other problem on your system which is outside the scope of our support to help with.

it seems sc is requesting the Runtime to be terminated. I only have two programs running on my trading computer. sc and trading platform and it always happens when I start sc. I will also check in the processes and programs being ran after starting the computer. But I will update and see what happens and inform you after doing some of my own checking.

Updating is not going to help this problem now that we understand it.

If you press OK on that dialog window and it does not affect Sierra Chart, then it is coming from another program. We do not know what that other program is.

The best way to determine what the program is, is to open the Windows Task Manager when you see this runtime error dialog. See what process gets removed from the list of processes when you press the OK button.
