Chart problem for August 24 - Russell 2000 emini (TF), September 2015

I'm new to Sierra Chart. I would appreciate any feedback from you. If you pull up a historical daily chart and an intraday chart (any timeframe will do, with the evening session included) of Russell 2000 emini (TF), September 2015. you will see the following regarding August 24: 1) The daily bar shows an open of 1104.6 and a high of 1155.3. 2) The intraday chart shows the evening session started at 17:00 CT on August 23 (it's a Sunday, so 17:00 CT open is correct). The market opened at 1155.3 and this was the only time 1155.3 was printed. So, based on the intraday chart, the daily bar is supposed to show an open of 1155.3. Am I correct? Thank you! GFF |

By the way, I'm using Rithmic data feed for Sierra Chart. On my NinjaTrader, Continuum feed shows an open at 1155.3 and Kinetick shows 1104.6. Guess it depends on the feed?

The correct open is 1104.6. Do you have an intraday of the same session from DTN IQ? Does it also show an open of the evening session at 1104.6? I'm only on a free trial of Rithmic/Sierra Chart and will need to pick a data feed for SC permanently. Are you suggesting DTN IQ is the best? Sounds like you use it to verify other feeds. |

The opening price is set by the exchange. You cannot look at Intraday data to definitively verify if the open price is correct. We would think it would match, but not necessarily. The Rithmic Intraday data is fine. IQ Feed will not be any different. We do not recommend using IQ Feed unless that is really what you want to use.
