hello, when an error message pops up it comes to the front of the screen and you have to close it before you can manage an existing order or position. Sometimes this takes a few moments and may interfere with a current market position. Is it possible to configure all error messages to not pop up in front screen position so that you do not have to close it out to place an order or manage an existing position?

This is the error:

Order Modification Error: Order Modification Reject. Text: Order Action rate exceeded. Order Modification failed.

We show that your Sierra Chart account is expired. Are you using Sierra Chart provided by a broker? If so, which broker. Please log into the support board by using Help >> Support Board from within your copy of Sierra Chart. We will not provide support through the account you are using any longer.

The error message you are seeing is provided through the Trade Service Log. This window will automatically open when there is an order error. But it will not take the focus. This cannot be changed.

But you should contact your broker about this error: Order Action rate exceeded. And have them increase the allowed rate.


This really is the main problem that you must focus on. Not the Trade Service Log opening bringing attention to this error which should not be occurring to begin with.

OK understood. Contact CQG and have them increase the "Order Action rate exceeded" for the user.

yes. I understand that if that specific issue continues, I will have CQG increase the order action rate. However, the question was, is there any setting which you can set so that when error messages pop up, you are not required to close out the error message prior to continue attending to a trade? If a trader has to close out an error message first, it interferes with the trading.

They are not required to close the Trade >> Trade Service Log. They could just move it out of the way. Upon a trading error which requires the user's attention, that window will open if it is not already open but it will not take the focus. It does not have to be acknowledged.

There is no setting because this is not true. That window definitely does not have to be closed or even acknowledged to continue to trade.

It would be best to leave the Trade Service Log open and just move it to the edge of the screen if the user does not want to look at it.

And we highly recommend at this time contacting CQG to increase the order action rate. If they are seeing an error with that now, they are going to continue to see it. You should not wait for this. That error should be regarded as a highly critical trading error that should be immediately attended to if the cause of it is known and not some unexpected event which should be limited.
