Hi Sierrachart,

I have a paid "Service package 5" account with you and want to test out connecting it to CQG to receive market data from them (for a number of exchanges your not connected to). I followed your instructions to connect my (demo) CQG account to you, but it won't connect for some reason.

Are there any additional SC features I need to pay for or enable to get this CQG connection to work?

If not, I'll check in with CGG again to see what the problem could be.

You need to set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service to CQG Web API.

Try connecting again. If it does not work, provide a copy of the Message Log by following these instructions here:

I tried again and it did not work.

Could the issue be that I don't have an account with any of the brokers mentioned in this link that you say are needed for CGQ integraion link http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/CQGTrading.php#SetupInstructions ? (Note: I am just using CQG's demo for now for paper trading, not live trading)

Also, CQG said I may need to create a new CQG demo account through you in order to get the integration to work. You'll see in the log files below that there is a "Username or password is incorrect" error, therefore I'm wondering if the demo account CQG account gave me is simply not authorized to integrate with you. The demo username and login works just fine when I use it to login to their desktop application.

This is the answer from CQG about this:
CQGIC has COM Based API not a web base api, so no they are not compatible. That said however they are distinct so he could use SC in conjunction with CQGIC, but there would have to exist separate logins as our infrastructure only allows 1 concurrent login.

So the account you are using will not work. The only way we know to get an account that will work would be from a broker/trading service supporting CQG.
