More than 1 symbol per chart

I'm trying to add more than 1 symbol to a chart. Please see attached photo with blue arrows signifying the symbols. I found this info:

Is this the correct way? If not please advise.

Once the 2nd symbol is added to a chart, can the "symbol that was added" chart be deleted or does that chart need to remain?

I removed the added symbols chart and that stopped the updating on the chart with 2 symbols. I guess I answered my own question, that the original chart needs to stay.
