regardless of which FOREX pair is selected, the 4-hour chart has very little history, about 1 month, but XAUUSD, for ex., has a lot more history. why is that and how do i get the 4-hour chart to display more history, just like the daily or the 1-hour chart?

For the most amount of history, you need to use a different Data service. You need to use SC Forex Data (FXCM).

ok fixed but now when trying to display historical daily, weekly, and monthly for NZDUSD, for ex, the data file received from FXCM is dirty, meaning that the data for many periods has the decimal point set in the wrong position, i.e. instead of 0.768904, the price would be listed as 768.904, as a result of which the whole chart, of course, is utterly wrong.

i changed the data server to SC Historical Data and get the same result.

am i missing something here or is the data file that needs cleaning?
