Thanks. I tried disabling the local firewall and it still didn't work. I'm connected to the internet through a corporate VPN that has some controls over the firewall that I don't. The problem might be there. Do you have any advice for me in this case as far as what I need to tell my IT department to allow this connection?

First follow the instructions in this section to use port 80:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_HistoricalIntradayData.html#UsingPort80

Most likely that will resolve it.

Or have the VPN allow port 10149.

I tried both of those on my end and neither worked. For allowing the port I created a new inbound access rule and even turned off the firewall...ahhhh!

The port is not likely blocked on the computer but on the network you are connected to.

They opened port 10149 and it worked after I did an uninstall and reinstall.

Thanks!

uninstall and reinstall.
This does not make sense to us. An uninstall is a very rare thing that anyone would have to do with Sierra Chart. Really there is no reason to ever do this.

Anyway, at this point we can no longer comment on what the problem was.
