T& S with a filter for block trades

Today I'd like to send you a good example for a block trades.

The left hand side T&S is witout any filter and the right one with the filter "same time and type". The file "TapeBlock1" show the beginning of the trade with the timestamp "14:20:47.xxx" and the "TapeBlock2" show the end of this sequence.

May I ask you again to add a filter like "NumTrades >=" that works only in connection with the "Same Time and Type" Filter.

To filter a block trade is very helpful because you see much easiere that a "BigBoy" is coming and pushing the market.

At the moment there is no filter and if you have a fast tape you miss that big position of "236/77".

In case of a filter I would set "NumTrades >= 50" (in connection with the "Same Time and Type" filter) and only that position is in sight.

Many thanks

I definitely second this request..Block Trade capture is a very hot topic these days and to take it one step further, also providing it as a subgraph indicator(like a volume bar graph) would be ideal so you don't have to stare at the T&S all day long and possibly miss one.

Many thanks "J" for your support.
Maybe there are other user to support my suggestion because at the moment I have the feeling that SC don't see that importance of that topic.
Esp. if you watch DOM and tape it is a need to have a filter for Volume and/ or Block trades.
Many thanks

Well, it's unanimous then ;-)

No worries Nick as I too rely heavily on DOM and strategic Volume data-sets(at Bid/Offer..etc..etc)

I trust the good people at SC will both appreciate and give serious consideration to our suggestions as providing what's presently desired in the markets is in their best interest too.

And any and all data/indicators that shine a "light" on Block Trades & Dark Pool activity is definitely at the top of many traders wishlists these days..

Sorry guys, I'm confused a bit after reading the topic. What do you call "Block Trades"? Appearance of Iceberg-like algorithms in the markets or just big orders fills or anything else? Just trying to take the point about "Block trades"... Thanks for your inputs in advance.

I'm referring to big order fills..

Thanks for the explanation. I think it could be a quite important option but I believe the idea will turn obsolete soon, at least with CME.

Many tkanks for the new combined filter. The attached screenshot is a good example.
I am using three different T&S

1. Without any filter
2. With the Volume Filter >=7
3. With the new combined Filter:
a. Same Time/ Type
b. Volume >=30 and Trades >=10

The timestamp 10:55:51.xxx gives back the power of the new combined filter.

No 3 is showing you a block trade (86/ 65). The ΓΈ Trade = 1.323.
No 1 is not a big help in that moment - says nothing
No 2 gives back only one time a Volume of 8 - says nothing

In that case the combined filter was the only helping hand.
