I know that in order to see historical data that is accurate for a futures contract I need to select the "Continuous Futures Contract" checkbox on the chart setting advanced tab.

I need to setup my charts to have the following

'new york close' chart which shows 5 daily bars ... where the norm is to use GMT charts which have 6 daily bars (which is wrong). I need to see a 5 day chart which closes at the same time as the new york market.

however when I try and achieve this using the start time and end time options on the chart settings, it is always reset to 00:00:00 as soon as I set the "Continuous Futures Contract" checkbox.

Please could you help me achieve 5 day charst which closes at the same time as the new york market and also show all history.

attached is a sample of a 5 day new york close chart

You just need to open a Historical Chart through File >> Find Symbol. Do not use an Intraday chart. After you open the Historical Chart you can enable the Continuous Futures Contract option in Chart Settings.

Hi Guys

No that does not sort out the problem. If I do that , as mentioned, the start and end times for the chart are set to 00:00:00 and 23:59:59. this does not allow me to have the charts as a 5 day new york close. Also this is only available as a daily chart does not allow 4 hour charts etc

This is an incorrect assumption. The session times are correct and are precisely according to exchange rules because the data is from the exchange. You are good to go at this point. Historical charts give you exactly what you want. The Session Times do not apply to Historical Daily charts and that's why those controls are disabled. Disregard them.

In any case, we have no further advice here and are not able to help at all further.
