Hi, i just downloaded the sierra chart however under Analysis, there is no drop down menu containing Buffy2 or any other analysis methods - it only has studies. a friend of mine who has an older version of sierra chart has the dropdown menu with buffy 2 when clicking on Analysis tab. I am currently on the trial format but will not purchase if I am unable to get the buffy 2 like my firend has from the Analysis menu. Please help. thank you.

That sounds like a study collection (groups other studies to create a big picture).

Ask your friend about it. Also, what dlls did he need for it to work or did it just use standard studies. In the old days it used one of my dlls but it may have evolved to use standard SC functions added to the user contributed studies.

He will have all the extra bits you need in his SierraChart data directories. You could copy his whole SC directory and install it on your machine in place of your current SC directory - just change the user name / password to yours.

when I click the buffy link it saves directly to my download section of my computer - it does not ask where i want to save it. how do i save it to the SC data files folder as per these instructions??

" When you click the link to one of these files, you will then need to save the file to your Sierra Chart Data Files Folder. This folder can be determined by selecting Global Settings >> General Settings on the menu. The path to the folder where you need to save the files is displayed in the Data Files Folder box. For complete instructions, refer to the How to Use an Advanced Custom Study or a Study Collection page.

ok, i put the buffy into a new folder, saved it to desktop then followed your instructions above as per previous post - nothing happened after i clicked on apply and ok after saving the file to the sc data files folder. the instructions provided have me going in circles and its extremely frustrating. i referred to How to use the advanced study collection page - and like i said, the instructions make no sense at all and have me going in circles - when the folder is opened it is only source code - it doesnt go on the analysis menu - the instructions provided need improvement - not sure why the buffy study was taken off the analysis menu to begin with. please help - i will not subscribe until this is resolved. thank you.

These are the specific instructions for a study collection:

http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_DLLUsage.html#SC

Through the Windows Explorer, go to the Sierra Chart Data Files Folder. By default this is C:\SierraChart\Data. Do you see the Buffy file there?
