I upgraded to latest sc version prerelease, the old problem with charts freezing up is there again. When I minimize and maximize them they come to live again.

I run windows7.

What exactly do you mean by "freezing"?

If you are minimizing and maximizing a window, and that clears the problem, that sounds like a system issue.

Does this happen with one particular chart?

Nothing has changed in relation to an issue like this. We still believe it is a system issue.

No, what can I do to fix this. It was 6 months ago also when you found out it was something that windows did wrong.

Not sure what to say about this. Are you using Windows 8? At the present time we do not have any other reports of this.

Hi, I have to be honest and I have another program that had the same issue today, not the SC program!!

So it is indeed system related. I don't think your code can interfere with somebody elses window behavior. :-(

So, I guess I'll just have to accept that windows sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait until you guys completely are able to run on linux.

I actually also still have the same window re-drawing issue where charts stop updating, log shows no change, and resizing the main window fixes it, I was wondering if YSS/others still were too. I suspect it is still graphics card/driver related (I'm on Nvidia Quadro 1000M), but I've tried all fixes, and it only happens on my main computer and not the other.

It is too time consuming to continue diagnosing for me, and you have given excellent support thus far as well. I am going to a new dedicated 'lean' trading only machine instead and putting up with the resizing fix in the meantime. Despite the problem not getting resolved, I am not sure it is on Sierra Chart's end, and I appreciate your excellent support and generous trial time, I went ahead and became a paying Sierra Chart licensed user.

its not sierra, that is for sure.

im not sure whether that would be your RAM or CPU, but it is likely one of the two. maybe try looking it up on the web or talking to your local geek squad? one of the two need to be replaced or upgraded

No, it's definitely not the ram or the cpu, I have ECC ram server grade from Lenovo.

It's already been cleared that it only happens with Nvidia Quadro cards. I have 2 in this workstation to feed 8x24 monitors. Unfortunately that's the computer I bought to run Sierracharts all over the screens. Maybe one last thing to try is to see if this problem also occurs on windows8. I will test this weekend.

Interestingly mine is also a Lenovo business workstation, model W520, and the cause is also not the ram or cpu in my case, tested both extensively. This was the last thread for more info: http://www.sierrachart.com/supportboard/showthread.php?t=39894 .

How was it confirmed that it was due to the Nvidia Quadro cards, any link? Just want to determine how to ensure this won't be an issue when configuring the new machine dedicated only for Sierra Chart.

It's the only thing we have in common.

I bought a very expensive lenovo workstation for stability, if I had known, I would have just bought the parts as I always do and assembled myself.

I have similar issues for years now. When you minimize SC for say one hour, it freezes up. I could never solve it.

MacPro with Parallels Desktop & Windows 7. Didn't matter whether it's a brand new Virtual Win 7 machine, or one that's being used for years.

You just have to learn to live with it. I always save my chartbook before I take a break.

Never heard of this before or ever seen it:

And this is different than what the other 2 users have reported. When you say freeze, in what way? This must be a system problem. From our perspective a problem like this makes no sense as being within Sierra Chart itself.
