Is it possible to implement a feature to allow/disallow the selection of a drawn volume profile at the drawing level? I know there is a check box option under global tools menu but what if I only wanted to enable that for one profile on my chart. Its annoying when I have multiple profiles and the bigger profile in the background keeps getting activated anytime I click in the region it encompasses. And I dont want to align it to the far right. Can this be implemented ? |

You can right-click on the Volume Profile and select Lock Drawing so that it cannot be adjusted. Thanks but I already use the locking feature. It still doesn't totally eliminate the annoyance of the other profile being selected when i just want it to stay in the background. It really diminishes the user experience of using custom drawn profiles. SC already has an option to disable selection of these drawn profiles at the global level so my main query is why isn't there an option at the drawing level? So I could add it to my shortcut menu, right click and disable selection of any profile. Then I could enable selection again under studies window similar to hide/unhide drawings feature i suppose. |

Just learnt about Converging Drawings issue from the docs. Awesome.. didn't know that. I figured using that lesson (knowing where to click and using number + Enter key) with a combination of Lock Drawing and Adjust Drawing functions in the right click menu allows me to overcome the issues I mentioned here. In fact, this way of operating is better than disabling selection i believe (perhaps). Hope this helps someone else having similar issues. Thanks SC.

We have confirmed that Lock Drawing is properly saved with Chart Drawings when reopening a Chartbook. Make sure you save the Chartbook first. i mean restarting SC. as in the application, not just the chartbook. i always 'save all' when exiting SC as well.

That does not make any difference. We can run through that very same test and we would not encounter the problem.

It is pointless for us to do the test, but we went ahead and did it anyway, and there was no difference. The drawing remains locked. Describe the procedure you are following to lock a chart drawing how do you determine that it is no longer locked. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
