HNY SC Team.

Noticed 1220 is extremely slow when drawing rectangles on a Higher timeframe (Monthly) and viewing them on an Intraday (4H), when I go back to Monthly there's no issue, it only happens when I go to lower time frame. I'm running a core i7 with 8gb and SC is only taking up 30mb....

...in fact as I was typing this my machine crashed. Beforehand SC was showing as 13% CPU usage! with 'Not responding' in task manager. Up until that point screen flashed white with spinning mouse cursor on occasions(Win 7). Even the log window said 'Not Responding'

I noticed a similar (but not so severe) issue with the horizontal level drawing tool in previous versions but that seemed to clear in 1220.

...it's repeatable and I can replicate the issue every time

The Horizontal Level Tool also still seems to be affected, but the horizontal line remains ok. The rectangle Tool is affected but the Extending Rectangle seems ok. Seems only to affect those two tools with severe slow down/crashing (other drawings ok across all TF's, incl Fibs). The slowdown only happens when they are in view on the Intraday chart - regardless if before/after current price.

Also, when I draw an Ellipse on the Monthly Historical Chart, it does disappear on the Intraday (4HR) when the ellipse almost fills the screen - just disappears.

I have customised my settings quite a bit - i.e drawing tool snap-on high-low, keep drawing selected after mod etc..

Most likely these are issues on your side but we will check.

We need a Chartbook consisting of two charts doing what you describe in the first post.

There must only be one drawing on the chart and the Chartbook must only contain two charts and no more.

Attach it here by following these instructions:

We will check on the Horizontal Level drawing to make sure it is clipped to the window and not drawn if it is not visible.

Thanks SC, the fresh install works ok and for some reason I failed to change the config setting.

It seems the issue comes when setting the Drawing Properties Outline to 'Dots' (3rd down option) and width greater than 1 (say 3). The problem also happens on the fresh install in that case. If you then draw a Rectangle with that outline on the Monthly and move down to an Intraday timeframe on the same chart, scrolling back into the drawn Monthly Rectangle, you get the issue or I do at least.

Solid Lines are going to be much much more efficient than Dots.

We were able to reproduce, and this will be addressed in the next version (1222).

I know it is an old thread but the same problem with dashed lines happens with me when using dashed pivot points and going higher time frames, using solid lines is fine.
The problem is that solid lines pivots makes it more difficult to identify my real drawn solid line levels.

We cannot do anything better to help with this.

A dotted line is going to be less efficient than a solid line. This is something happening at the operating system level.
