I hope you don't get this question often.

One day Alerts worked by making a sound and sending a corresponding email and the next nothing happened.

Obviously I messed up and if you can help me (I looked at past Alerts issues with no joy), then I won't need to bother you again.

TIA
JD

If you go to the Alerts Log:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_AlertsManager.html#AlertsLog

Do you see that the alert was triggered?

Make sure your Alert Formula has not been altered and is still valid.

I've been looking at that and here is a screen shot of all the missed Alerts in the last hour.

Thanks

We do not understand the problem.

What exactly is the problem?

Clearly the Alert messages are being added to the Alerts Log so what else is the issue?

While the Alerts Log shows the Alerts, I don't get an audio Alert nor an email Alert. I depend on both of these Alerts.

Thanks

Go to the Alerts tab in the Study Settings for the study that has an alert formula and set the Alert Sound to something other than "No Alert". It looks like you have set it to "No Alert".

Hi Max
I've seen some of the obvious questions Support gets and I'm trying to avoid wasting your time and having a DUHH moment, but I'm failing.

I've written a simple Alert C>C[-1] and given it Alert 2 (see attached). There was just a fast market in USDJPY and lots of action with lots of closes up and down (see attached Alerts Log) and none of them sent me an email or triggered an audio alert. My speakers have been playing Bach all morning.

I get an Audio Alert (and email) when I buy or sell. I get your messages. I'm sure it's simple and I'' owe you a beer if I ever visit my Kiwi friends, but it just ain't obvious.

Thank
JD

It appears "Enable" enables. I had it off. Problem solved.

Although I've wasted your time, it's questionable if I'd have figured it out if I hadn't gone through the process of explaining. In the future I'll send imaginary questions but not really send them.

Thanks
JD
