I use Denali for US stocks data. And IBKR for trade execution. I use custom patterns ????-STK-SMART-USD. I open many different symbols for trading and always have to change Chart Setting to "Use as trade only symbol" everytime I open a new chart for trading. Is there a way to set that globally and persistently for all ????-STK-SMART-USD and other -STK-SMART-USD patterns Do I set "Trade/Quote Symbol" to ???? in Symbol Settings? It is currently blank for symbol ????-STK-SMART-USD However for symbol ???? "Trade/Quote Symbol" is ????-STK-SMART-USD. Should that also be set to "????" I basically need a global equivalent for Chart Settings > "Use As Trade Only Symbol" Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-09-09 00:50:26

However for symbol ???? "Trade/Quote Symbol" is ????-STK-SMART-USD. Should that also be set to "????" Yes. Go to the symbol settings and for each of the generic symbol entries - ?, ??, ???, etc. enter the "Trade/Quote Symbol" with the same wildcard for the symbol itself and with the rest of the IB required symbol. So for the symbol of "????", you enter the following in the Trade/Quote Symbol: ????-STK-SMART-USD For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thank you. I don't know what I am doing wrong. In Symbol Settings, I am using custom symbol settings values. For symbol "????" I have Trade/Quote Symbol = ????-STK-SMART-USD For symbol "????-STK-SMART-USD" I have Trade/Quote Symbol = <blank> My ACSIL study uses bid-offer quote data, and it isn't calculating anything because Sierra is still trying to get bid-offer quote data from IBKR, rather than Denali. I don't have realtime US stock data subscribed in IBKR. They are purely for execution. The only way I can get the setup to "work" is if I manually change Chart Settings > Use as Trade Only Symbol = Yes. But I have to do that for every chart. |

You do need to have the "Use as Trade Only Symbol" set to "Yes" in order to get the quote data from our "U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape" instead of from the Interactive Brokers data. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Use as Trade Only Symbol (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) For any existing charts, you would need to manually change this. If you change the symbol for a chart, then that setting will stay as it is. So you would not need to change it again later. And if you want to open a new chart, but not have to reset that, then use a Template chart that has it set as you want. Understood. I open new charts, 10 to 40 at a time, using a chart Associated Watchlist. So long as the seed chart has "Use as Trade Only Symbol" set to "Yes", then all new charts via "Set Charts to Watchlist" will inherit that setting. I think this is not possible: every chart has a trading study attached. Can I manipulate "Use as Trade Only Symbol" from ACSIL? I don't think I can. |

You can change the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" for the chart that has the study on it with ACSIL.
