Hello Sierra Chart,
I have attempted to upgrade from a pre-2800 version of Sierra to the latest 2947. Each time a chartbook is loaded Sierra Chart crashes. I have also tried 2940 as a test and the same happens.

Is there a log file that contains the crash error(s)?

In the meantime, I have reverted back to the pre-2800 version

Thank you

Please get us a chartbook that is causing this issue by following these instructions:
Support Board Posting Information: Attaching a File (Optional)

As noted in the instructions, you can attach the file privately, so only you and Sierra Chart can access it.

Hi John,
Thank you for the help.

I have isolated it to charts with custom studies, but not which custom studies.

Would recompiling these in a newer version potentially resolve this?

If recompiled in a newer version, will the recompiled versions work with a pre-2800 version if a rollback is necessary, or do the studies need to be recompiled again in a pre-2800 version?

Thank you

It depends what ACSIL members are being used. If they use Time and Sales data or market depth data, or Volume at Price related data, then yes they do have to be recompiled for an older version.

However, in December support for versions older than 2945 will be discontinued. Refer to:
Important Notice: Market Data feed Changes, Required Update in December 2026

So good to stay up-to-date now if you can.
