Hi all, I've been experiencing a strange one lately. I've been using Sierra Chart for over a year and this has started occurring recently. Everytime I place a trade, the TP/SL lines briefly show then immediately disappear. Then when I try closing SC, it tells me open trades are running. I check the Trade Positions window and surely enough, my trade is there. Is there any reason why this is occurring? I've always used the TP/SL lines for my trades, so not having them is an irritant. Many thanks! |

First thing to do is to check, that those Target and Stop orders are actually open and working in the Trade >> Trade Orders Window: Trading Information Windows: Trade Orders Window Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thank you Engineering. I can confirm that despite having exited my trades, the Trade Orders Window still shows the two trades I have taken today for example. And their status are still set to "Open". This isn't the case, so I'm not sure if there's some sync issue. Looking forward to your further support. |

We see you are using Rithmic. We want you to reconnect with File >> Reconnect.

This is a Rithmic issue and we cannot solve this. And there is nothing you can do either other than contacting Rithmic about this.

Hi, I've had Rithmic support look into this and see nothing amiss. I should've pointed out also that the same issue occurs when trading with my sim account, so I'm inclined to believe it's not a Rithmic issue. Please could you advise further? Thanks, Jared |

Please get us an image of the "Trade >> Trade Activity Log >> Orders" tab, making sure that you have the DisplaySettings for the Trade Activity Log to show the Non-Simulated information.

Yes sir. Any time I place a trade, the lines appear on the chart for like a milli-second then disappear, but the trade's filled until I "Flatten" it.

What do you mean by the "trade's filled until I "Flatten" it"? What we are trying to understand is if the Target and Stop are actually working, or if they are simply not there. Do you know if the Target and Stop are actually present on the exchange with Rithmic when they disappear in Sierra Chart? Or are they not with Rithmic and not showing in Sierra Chart? Also, are you still getting notified that you have an open Trade when you exit from Sierra Chart? If so, what exactly does it state? Please get us an image of the message.

So when I enter a trade and the TP/SL lines appear for a millisecond then disappear, the trade will stay open until I press the Flatten button. So there is no TP/SL applied it seems. So in answer to your question, I suspect that TP/SL not applying whatsoever. I still get notified of open trades shortly after manually closing a trade and closing SC. I shall send you an example screenshot tomorrow. Since I sent my first message on this thread today, the open trades seemed to have cleared from the Trade Orders window, so suspect Rithmic take 5-10 minutes after a closed trade to clear. But all the same, I'm no longer suspecting this is causing the TP/SL issue. |

It is not uncommon for Rithmic to not correctly process orders. Especially if this is with a Prop Firm. This is why we lean towards it being a Rithmic issue. You did state that you are also seeing this in Simulation mode. If you can reproduce it in Simulation Mode, then after you have it happen, get us your "Trade >> Trade Service Log" by following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: Providing Lines From Trade Service Log A couple of things to check on for the attached orders are the following: - Order Type: Make sure you are not using an unusual order type (such as "Market if Touched") - Offset: Make sure the offset value makes sense for what you are entering. For instance, make sure it is not 0. - Time in Force: Make sure this is set to "Day" or "Good Til Cancelled".
