We are putting out a note that we are aware of the NASDAQ TotalView interruptions today.

It appears as though these are, issues with the Internet service provider providing the dedicated connections that we use to carry this data. But we are not totally sure.

We use a TCP connection for NASDAQ TotalView to ensure there is no packet loss. This is critical in our experience.

NASDAQ TotalView always operates as a single channel. This is how it is from NASDAQ and we cannot change this.

It is entirely possible that there is just too much data to be processing on a single channel. We cannot say what the problem is with certainty. Could even be a problem with the NASDAQ server itself.

The NASDAQ data is currently down because another thing to understand about this data feed is that every time our system reconnects to the TCP data feed from NASDAQ, NASDAQ retransmits all the data from the start of the day. And that data has to be ignored if we have already processed it previously.

Since this is an order by order data feed, some of the data we do have to capture which would be the limit orders. So there can be a lengthy time to get this feed restarted like especially on a day like today.

It will come up within minutes from now.

We are running into unresolvable problems with NASDAQ TotalView today, at this time. There is just too much data coming through and we have told NASDAQ more than a year ago to use multiple channels, for the NASDAQ TotalView.

They said there is just a single channel. There is just too much data to be processing on a single channel.

We are going to be failing over to the multicast feed now. There is going to be significant packet loss though with this feed.

The NASDAQ TotalView data feed is now back.

Well we can see now, that the TCP data feed from NASDAQ is simply unusable on days like today. This is not our fault. There is nothing we can do.

We have to use the multicast feed going forward. But being they put everything onto a single channel, it is hard not to lose packets.

Again we are seeing problems with NASDAQ TotalView. We have told NASDAQ that they need to use multiple channels, for their data feed. This is imperative. We will need to tell NASDAQ again.

There is just too much data to be processing on a single channel.

We are going to be doing an emergency, modification to the NASDAQ TotalView processing code to mitigate the problem.

We have completed the release of changes for NASDAQ TotalView processing which should solve the delay problem.

Looks like everything is fine now with NASDAQ TotalView. The basic solution is that we reduced to the frequency of market depth data transmissions. This is now reduced, to 2 times per second as compared to approximately up to 7 times per second.

We will patch the missing data at the end of the day.

At this point, it is a lost cause for us to recover the missing historical data for NASDAQ TotalView. We have tried. The best we can get to is about 11:45 AM and then we start running into problems.

Update: We now understand why there was a problem at 11:45 AM, on Friday, June 12, 2026. This issue was encountered both in real-time and during historical data recovery.

At that time there was either some faulty data or unexpected data from NASDAQ TotalView, which caused a high CPU usage condition that just simply went on endlessly. We do not know more than that. We did not record the raw data at that time to be able to debug it. We have never seen this before.

Maybe we can get the data from the exchange. But that is not necessarily an easy process for multiple reasons.

The NASDAQ TotalView TCP feed is simply unusable on days like today (June 12, 2026).

And if anyone doubts what we say about NASDAQ TotalView needing to use multiple channels, for their data feed, this is not something which is debatable. The CME, has numerous channels for their data. The US equities data from UTP and CTA, use 6 and 12 channels respectively.

And NASDAQ is trying to push, the entire US stock market and also, market depth data, through a single channel. It is way too much data.

We need to correct what we said above and we have now made the correction. We now understand why there was a problem at 11:45 AM, on Friday, June 12, 2026.

So this was the problem. When we tried to recover the historical data for completeness, on Friday at 11:45 AM, we just ran into a high CPU usage condition that we could just simply not recover from.
