Number of market depth levels for NQ is wrong!?

Two charts with dom graph on, both 400 for maximum market depth levels. Price range for NQ is higher than for MNQ. MNQ seems correct, to many levels for NQ.

What you see must be correct. There is no reason why the market depth data for a particular symbol would be wrong. This is not technically possible for there to be a problem. Make sure you are not combining levels though: Chart Settings: Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth menu) Make sure this is set to 0 for both charts. 600 Levels each and there is a huge difference in DOM graph.

You need to look at the Market Depth Window (File >> Open Market Depth Window) for each symbol and see what the levels look like in there. Offhand, it looks like the Bid side for the MNQ just has fewer levels of market depth actually available. You have your settings set to only show 600, but there could be less. If you scroll to the bottom of the Market Depth Window you will see the total number of levels that are actuall making up the market depth at that moment for eaach side. Ok, only the levels, where there is actually a limit order counts as level. This makes sense. I thougt every Pricelevel would count regardless wether there is an order or not. NQ has less limit orders, so this is the reason. Thank you for your help. |
