Hi,

I want to have 10 or 20 of Nasdaq's biggest stocks up put this in a separate instance to not slow down my DOM and main charts. I have only 5 days "Days to Load for Intraday Chart Data Type" and its downloading what appears to be MONTHS of data and is taking forever. This is definitely not doing what the description says it should and will mean a project that should take me 10 mins might take an hour + waiting for tons of data to download I don't want so I can't test my study.

I've noticed this many times but didn't care as I only wanted ONE symbol but when I need 10 or 20 new ones this is very frustrating to wait 30 mins to an hour.

As you can see in new symbol I just added data is 2025-10-30! It took about 2-3 mins to load just that one chart with hundred+ days 1m data I don't need or want or have memory wasted on.

Data/Trade Service Settings: Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings)

You need to reduce the Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download setting.

The amount of Historical Intraday data that will actually be downloaded for a symbol depends upon the last Date-Time in the Intraday data file. If the file is empty and is therefore a new Intraday data file, then the Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download settings will exactly control the number of days downloaded, assuming the server has the same amount of data available. If this setting is set to 90, but the file was only missing 1 day of data from the last Date-Time in the file to the present time, then only 1 day of data will be downloaded.

It even points you to that setting in the description of Days to Load for Intraday Chart Data Type

In the case of Intraday charts, when historical data is being downloaded into the chart, then additional data will be loaded into the chart beyond what was initially loaded from the local data file on your system. Therefore, the Days to Load setting will get exceeded. When the historical Intraday data download is complete for the symbol, if you want to have no more days in the chart than the Days to Load setting, then select Chart >> Reload and Recalculate on the menu to load only the Days to Load .

This setting does not control how many days of data are downloaded from the remote data service. In the case of Historical Daily data, all historical Daily data available is downloaded from the data service. In the case of Intraday data, this is controlled through the Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download settings.
