Rithmic data feed issues on chartboook

Hello, I am running into a repetitive issue in my chartbook only when connected to the Rithmic data feed using LucidTrading servers. The issue is the chartbook glitches every few seconds causing lag and continuous refreshing from what is appearing in the message log while this is occurring. I have updated sierra chart to its most current version, I have no network issues and the chartbook operates smoothly when connected to the Teton data feed - it is just Rithmic that is causing these problems. If I could please get some help with this, thanks in advance. There is nothing specific in the log as to why it is disconnecting. Our best guess is that since it is the Good Friday holiday and the exchanges are closed, Rithmic may not be "accepting" connections. Our recommendation is to not connect to Rithmic until the markets are open again. Use another service for whatever you need to get done on the system today. You state everything is fine with Teton, therefore, you should just continue with that connection. John, Thanks for your response, this issue has been ongoing for a couple of days, occurring yesterday and the day before during regular trading hours - I just was able to make the post here today. Just wondering if you have any further suggestions? I appreciate your help. |

There was an issue with Rithmic, where if you had symbols that they would not recognize, then it would cause what you are seeing. For instance, we see the symbol "GVZ_CGI" in your log, which would have cause this issue. But we put in a fix to not request symbol information from Rithmic for any non-Rithmic symbol. So as long as you are on a recent release, you should not have this issue. Refer to the following regarding this: Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Frequent Reconnections First of all, make sure you are on a recent release. You can update by following these instructions: Software Download: Fast Update Then, although you should not be having this issue, please go through and remove any symbol that Rithmic will not like. If this solves it, then let us know. Perhaps we missed something in our fix for this. John, I would like to thank you for your guidance here, I think I was able to solve the issue - it was indeed the GVZ_CGI chart in a constant refresh with the historical data I believe. Removing the GVZ_CGI chart from the chartbook automatically stopped the glitching that was occurring every few seconds in each chart and then deleting that file from the Windows data folder got the message log to stop continuously updating. I restarted the platform and it is now operating smoothly. |
