Hi,

I'm experiencing the following issue:
When switching between Chartbooks, the chart windows are not being restored as they were regarding the z-order. I have like 8 charts visible (and another 12 in the background) on my main Chartbook where all windows start on the left edge on the screen. The width of the windows are arranged in a way that I can see the last 1/8th of a portion of each window.
When I click away to a different Chartbook and come back to the main one, the order is messed up. Only the very top window is correct and another irrelevant window takes up the rest of the space.

I have encountered this issue in January. Then I rolled back to version 2798 for this reason. Stayed there until yesterday. Updated to 2890 and experiencing the very same issue.

Thanks.

You need to adjust the order of the charts as you want them organized according to the Z order, within the Windows and Chartbooks list:
Window, CB and CW Menus: Windows and Chartbooks (Window)

You can also drag the MDI tabs to rearrange those:
General Settings Window: Window Tabs (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Windows)

This is the only solution.

Thank you.

Took me a while to make it working. I thought the leftmost tab is the last one to get activated because that kept showing up on the top, so I moved the necessary windows to the left which of didn't work. So the order of windows is like: clicking through all window tabs from left to right and the final window drawn will be the window that was last active even if it's not the rightmost.

All good now.

We have added this to the documentation:
Charts that are lower in this list, will be higher up in the Z order, near the top. Charts higher in this list, will be lower in the Z order, near the bottom.

There is a solution to this but it is not very simple. Sierra Chart will have to maintain the internal z-order to solve this. Functionally there was never anything changed on our side, but when we implemented our own MDI window functionality, there is this subtle change that we were not aware would happen.

You can also drag the MDI tabs to rearrange

I'm able to drag a chart's MDI tab, but not a spreadsheet's MDI tab.

Please advise.

Yes you cannot rearrange those.
