Please add a command called “Apply Default Bar Spacing” that applies the Default Chart Bar Spacing without scrolling the chart to the latest bar.

Currently, Reset Bar Size/Spacing/Scale applies the default spacing but also scrolls the chart to the end. When analysing historical sections of a chart, this is disruptive.

Over the years I have tried multiple workarounds — counting scroll positions, scripting counting sequences etc and codifying the behaviour externally — but these approaches are visually disruptive and hard on the eyes (you can simply try by sending a up/down keystroke 20 times programmatically).

It seems justified for Sierra to support this natively, especially since the existing reset command already performs the spacing change; it would simply need the automatic scroll-to-end behaviour removed or omitted for this variant.

Positionally you would simply anchor to the last bar on the screen, it will look natural and mimick many other platforms which have this native function, even mediocre web-based platforms.

Not urgent at all given your current workload, just please add it to the list for whenever convenient.

Please do this soon!

I have to use a space counter, with code, then send that many up/down commands to go back to default bar spacing - it's killing my eyes!

There were two options added to the Keyboard Shortcuts and Control Bar buttons for "Maximum Chart Bar Spacing" and "Minimum Chart Bar Spacing". These items set the Bar Spacing to a specific value without moving the chart to the end of the chart.

You can define what the "Minimum" and "Maximum" values are, so they do not actually need to be a minimum or maximum, they can be any value you choose, which gives you two buttons/keyboard shortcuts to set the bar spacing as you want. You set these values using the following setting and the one below it:
General Settings Window: Maximum Chart Bar Spacing for Command

The "pixel spacing" that you set for these is the number that is displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen. So when you have your chart set as you want it, note that number in the bottom right, and then set that to one of the commands. Then you can select that button/keyboard shortcut and have your chart set back to what you want.
