Hello gentlemen, As context, I'm trying to achieve a setup of running three Sierra instances, each with two chartbooks open, of which each chartbook has a dozen charts of various types (footprint, depth histogram, renko, candlestick, volume profile, etc.), and each chart running between five and fifteen studies. It's a lot to ask I know. For what it's worth the PC is a new build with an Ultra 7 CPU and nothing else running on it. That said, a few questions about reducing lag and maximizing performance: - When Market Depth Data Days To Load is set to 0 both globally and on a specific chart, but the chart includes a study that uses depth, does the chart only load and processs depth data starting from the moment it is opened, but not load or process depth data before that moment? (And if so, that would imply that any depth-dependent lookback study would only work after the chart has been opened long enough to receive depth data to match the lookback period?) - If a chart does not need depth data but it continues to load when the chart is opened (maybe happens because a chart had a depth study like bid/ask depth bars, the study was removed, depth data still loads), what can I do to make it stop loading? - Is there a maximum update interval in Chart Settings > Display > Chart Update Interval and/or will it accept something big like 30000 for 30 seconds, that I can use for clunkier charts that don't need updates even at the second level? I know your time is valuable so don't expect anything in depth but any other quick tips to free up CPU cycles and maximize performance are greatly appreciated. Thanks as always for your help and your awesome software. |
