Dear Sierra Chart Support Team, I have noticed that Spreadsheet windows must currently be detached from the main Sierra Chart window using Window >> Detach/Attach Window in order to remain persistently visible. When kept attached in the chartbook, they automatically hide when I click on a chart that sits underneath the SS window. This works well for some workflows, but in multi-chart or multi-monitor setups, it would be extremely valuable to have an option to keep the Spreadsheet window always visible and overlaid (or docked/floating in a non-intrusive way) directly on top of individual charts — even when the Spread Sheet window is part of the main workspace and not detached. Given the recent improvements to the user interface and graphics handling, I was wondering whether it might now be technically feasible to implement something along these lines — for example: A per-Spreadsheet-study input like “Keep Spreadsheet Window Always Visible on Chart” Or a global/Chartbook setting to make Spreadsheet windows behave more like floating, always-on-top overlays tied to their parent chart This would greatly streamline analysis and trading workflows where real-time Spreadsheet data needs to stay in view alongside the primary chart(s) without requiring full detachment and separate window management. Also, another interesting thing I would love to know is the following: Whenever the spreadsheet is attached to the main instance and I click on a window that seats underneath it (making the spreadsheet window "disappearing"). How can I retrieve it? Because even if I click on Window --> Windows and chartbooks, the spreadsheet window is just not present in the list... The only way (I found) is to minimise the window that sits underneath the SS window, moving the SS window, maximise the window again, moving the SS window back where it was. I don't know to other users, but this is extremely inefficient, time consuming and silly. I believe such an option would be a highly valuable addition for many users. Thank you very much for considering this suggestion — and thank you as always for the continued development and excellent trading platform. Best regards, Fabio |

The way this is accomplished is very standard: Also, another interesting thing I would love to know is the following:

You select the spreadsheet through the CW menu, or the MDI window tabs: Window, CB and CW Menus: CW Menu General Settings Window: Window Tabs (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Windows) Also be aware of this new setting: General Settings Window: Position Spreadsheet After Associated Chart on MDI Tabs (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Windows >> Window Tabs) it would be extremely valuable to have an option to keep the Spreadsheet window always visible and overlaid (or docked/floating in a non-intrusive way) directly on top of individual charts We think there are significant technical problems with supporting this. We do not think it would work properly in the case of a MDI child window.

Good morning Sierra Chart Support Team, Thank you for your prompt response and for providing the additional information regarding the new setting. I appreciate the update and wasn't previously aware of this option. That said, it doesn't fully align with my workflow, as I do not use MDI window tabs—I prefer to maximize screen real estate for charts and data views. On a related note, I would like to kindly inquire whether it would be feasible to implement an option to hide the menu bar on detached Spreadsheet windows, similar to how it is already possible with detached Chart windows. For charts, this is easily toggled via Chart >> Show Menu (enabling/disabling displays or hides the menu for each individual detached chart window). Currently, no equivalent option appears to exist for Spreadsheet windows. Being able to hide the Spreadsheet menu (while keeping the window detached and floating) would help further optimize screen space in setups where spreadsheets are used alongside multiple charts. Thank you again for your continued excellent support and for considering this suggestion. Best regards, Fabio. |

We have noted the request to have the option for "Show Menu" on detached spreadsheet windows. We can not say when we would get to any particular request. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
