Am I correct in that windows detached from the main window cannot have tabs like the main window? I have three monitors and I'd like to have a window in each that has tabs for other charts. Will that require that I run aN instance of SC for each monitor? Thanks

This is correct. When a window is "detached" it is then managed by the operating system, which is why you will see an icon for it in your Taskbar instead of the tab in the application.

If you want to have the window with the tabs in each monitor, then yes, you would need to run additional instances and have one for each monitor. Refer to the following for information on Sub-Instances:
File Menu: New Instance (File)

Thanks John. I'm not a fan of NT, and SC is far superior in many, many ways but the way they handle windows/tabs has some advantages.
