I'm on 2875 now, but this has been happening since the MDI changes a few version back.

I have 5 chartbooks starting automatically on Sierra Chart startup.

The main chartbook opens, flashes the 6 charts in the book as its opening up (there's also a spreadsheet), then the 1/only chart that should be displayed goes black, and shows the message "Calculating Studies..." forever.

This is a new behavour since the MDI changes.

I have to press F7/F8 to change to another chartbook, and back to the primary chartbook, to see my chart and have the message go away.

I tried setting a different chartbook as the book to show on startup, but the same behaviour is presented.

Ideas?

We do have one other similar report to this, and it is very much believed to be an operating system level problem. We are quite sure there are no issues within Sierra Chart regarding something like this. Does not make any technical sense.

The solution to this problem is to enable this option by setting it to Yes:
General Settings Window: Destroy Chart Windows when Hidden (Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> Application GUI)

Thank you. That works better, but not completely fixed.

Now the main chart is showing after startup without having to press F7/F8.

However, the main chart is coming up in window (restore?) mode, instead of maximized. It first pops open in maximized, loads historical data, then flickers and changes to window mode every time. All non-minimized chart in the chartbook opens in window mode.

The other workbooks are fine, with their main charts coming up in maximized mode after startup, and changing to them by pressing F7/F8.

If I change which workbook is visible first after startup, they also present the same issue. They open all non-minimized windows in widow mode, and ignore the saved setting of maximized for the main chart.

For some reason the chartbook that comes up after first start, won't save the window mode in maximized.
