i have the Volume At Price Threshold Alert V2 on my Volume by Price Study. So I can get the alerts per bar either with Visible or Bid/Ask separately. I wanted to have it for RTH and night session. I noticed even though I have a Vol at Price either for the Day or Visible (and I just show from start of RTH) that I cant get the alerts. I read the description says "per bar", so I imagine that's why. So I switched to my daily bars, and it still doesn't work. For instance, I have the alert for 250 ASK, and indeed the alert (rt arrow) shows, but not accurately. Using 250 ASK, the arrow does show Asks per price level on a lot of them, but some other price levels where Ask >250 there's no alert. So its not working. Is this study not meant for 1 daily bar? And if it does, what is missing? Thx |

The Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 will not work on a Daily chart if that daily chart is using Daily Historical data, which is the default. You can make it work, by creating daily bars that are based on the Intraday data. To do this, you need to set the "Chart Data Type" to "Intraday Only Chart" and then set the Bar Period to be "1-0-0" for the Days-Minutes-Seconds. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Chart Data Type (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Date Range and Limiting Method) Also, keep in mind that in order for the Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2 to work properly, you need to have 1 tick data. Refer to the following: Data/Trade Service Settings: Intraday Data Storage Time Unit (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Common Settings) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Yes, my chart is set to Intraday, and 1-0-0 Yes, I have tick data. See attached pic, you'll see the grey Rt arrows. In this case, Ask is set to 1000 You'll see that the grey arrow aren't on Ask >1000, nor are the less or equal. No rhyme or reason I can tell. https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1769810538565.png Vol at Price settings are: (btw, these cant be screenshoted?) -Comparison method=ASK Vol -Vol Threshold=1 -Additional Vol Threshold=1000 Number of days to calculte=1 |

You have your Volume Threshold set to a value of 1. So you are going to get the marker next to every price level. The "Additional Volume Threshold" does not apply in this setup. From the documentation: Additional Volume Threshold: This threshold Input is used when the Comparison Method is set to Bid Volume and Ask Volume Separately. It is used to set the Ask Volume threshold. The Volume Threshold Input sets the Bid Volume threshold.

I think i misspoke on the Inputs.I switched the wording. It works, so I know its correct. Let me Clarify: For my Ask Levels >1000, the settings are Vol Threshold=1, and Additional Vol Threshold=1000 (shown as Grey Rt Bar at Level) For my Bid Levels > 1000, the settings are Vol Threshold=1000 , and Additional Vol Threshold=1 (Shown as Left Bar at Level. I realized awhile back that even though different color, if both Left Bars, if both Bid and Ask levels are >1000, I only see one arrow bc theyre stacked [unless I offset one]) So to clarify, the levels and everything are correct if I use it on a Multiple Profiles Based on Bar Count. But I want cumulative real time in RTH. To to that i would need ONE bar for the day RTH, Ive tried different settings and cant get the alert to work on ONE DAY. I currently have an interday chart with 1-0-0 I have the above alert settings. As you can see from the upload, the arrows are at over 1000 on some, but not all of them. (btw the White/Grey Arrows are "Draw Study Underneath Main Graph, but you can still see the ends) https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1770075487185.png below if the alerts set to 150. As you can see again, no rhyme or reason. Most are above 150 Ask or Bid, yet only some have an arrow https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1770076600677.png |

It sounds like you have 2 copies of the "Volume at Price Threshold Alert V2" running. This is fine, but we need to know the "Comparison Method" that you have set for both copies.

Yes, 2 copies. One for Bid, one for Ask. Both Based on Main Price Graph. Currently the Comparison Method is set to Bid Vol Ask Vol Separately. But I also tried Bid Only and Ask Only too. (And again they are all concentrated at the bottom of the Day bar. Some are above the Vol parameters, some are below) |

"Bid Vol Ask Vol Separately" means that you will get a marker whenever either the Bid Volume or the Ask Volume at that level exceeds the "Volume Threshold". If you want to view markers for the Bid and a different marker for the Ask, then you would want to use "Bid Volume" in one instance of the study and "Ask Volume" in the other instance. But as we noted previously, with any of these options - the "Additional Volume Threshold" is not used. So if you want to get a marker when the Bid is greater than 1000, then you need to enter a "Volume Threshold" of 1000 for that instance of the study, and the same for the Ask instance. Having a value of "1" in the "Volume Threshold" will give you a marker at every level. And in order to get the Bid markers to show separately from the Ask markers, set the Subgraphs for the Bid instance to be "Square Offset Left" and then set the subgraphs for the Ask instance to be "Square Offset Right". You can also change the colors to make them more obvious. Keep in mind that when you change the settings for Subgraph 1 in the study, it will then apply that to all the other subgraph markers. So you only need to change that one item. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
