Version 2847 Minimize Windows is not working as the previous version did. I have multiply charts in my chart book, some chart windows I have duplicated and use as a reference chart to markup- I have always minimized these reference chart windows (by right clicking the chart name in the bottom left of the screen and selecting minimize)- this would send that chart window to bottom left corner of the screen and out of the way in previous versions. But now after updating, I go to minimize my reference chart window, and the window only shrinks in size while staying on the main screen (not relocating to the bottom left of the screen). I also do not use title bars on any of my charts, but when I go to minimize my reference chart and it only shrinks in size, it also adds a title bar to that window. Some chartbooks are seeing an entirely different behavior- when I go to minimize another reference window in a separate chartbook and attempt to manually "hide" it behind my main chart windows- and I change chartbooks and then return to this chartbook- the minimized chart window returns to it restored version (full size, not the tiny window, and is now visible). It makes this chartbook almost impossible to use because some windows are now covered/overlapped. So far I have minimized the reference charts in my various chart books that do not "restore themselves" and just manually "hide" them behind my main chart windows inside each chartbook. But this is also annoying - When I change individual chartbooks (all my chartbooks have the same layout)- I see the previous minimized reference chart window flash for a second in its full restored window version before it disappears again behind the main windows- this is very annoying and clunky looking. Am I missing something here? |

There is a setting to control this: Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> MDI Child Window Minimize Method: {"None", "Hide Window", "Minimize in Place", "Minimize to Bottom"} And there are two additional settings under that. You can also disable the title bar of a chart through the Chart menu. Yes we do see this and we will resolve this today: Some chartbooks are seeing an entirely different behavior- when I go to minimize another reference window in a separate chartbook and attempt to manually "hide" it behind my main chart windows- and I change chartbooks and then return to this chartbook- the minimized chart window returns to it restored version (full size, not the tiny window, and is now visible). Great, thank you so much for your hard work and prompt reply. I went with "Hide Window" Question: Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> MDI Child Window Minimize Method: {"None", "Hide Window", "Minimize in Place", "Minimize to Bottom"} If I choose to "Hide Window", the specific tab for that chart in the bottom left of the screen disappears after I right click it and choose minimize. I'm not sure where to find/restore this minimized chart now, how would I do this? |

There are additional settings to manage this (Global Settings >>General Settings >> Windows): Show Hidden Windows on MDI Tabs: No/Yes MDI Tabs Left Click Action: {"Activate", "Restore", "Maximize"} You can also find the hidden windows listed on the CW menu. Just one point to note, if you opt for hiding the window when minimized, and then restore it from the MDI tab, you might also want to disable (set to No) this option: "Global Settings > General Settings > GUI > Destroy Chart Windows When Hidden"
I had it enabled, when minimizing the windows they would get closed/removed when hidden. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-12-31 21:47:25
