A stochastic has 2 lines and 2 horizontals. What we have is a single line version of an RSI with no horizontals. Can we please have this changed/corrected to what is in Investopedia and used by Trading View and many others? Thanks. |

What is the exact name of the study you are using? You are showing me a Slow and Fast Stochastic which, like the Preferred Stochastic, has 2 lines for the Stochastic and two horizontal lines. When I click on Stochastic RSI in Studies Available, it is a single line with no horizontals like RSI. All Stochastic indicators look the same with two indicator lines that cross and two horizontals, but Sierra's is not a Stochastic. Please look at Investopedia or Trading View etc. It should look like the ones you posted but with a different calculation. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stochrsi.asp https://www.quantifiedstrategies.com/stochastic-rsi/ https://alchemymarkets.com/education/indicators/stochastic-rsi/ https://www.tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000502333-stochastic-rsi-stoch-rsi/ etc. Thanks. |

At this time, we could not tell you how exactly that study was devloped and why it only has one line. But it is the way it is, and this particular option will not change. But, if you want to get a Stochastic of the RSI data, then add the RSI study to the chart and then add the "Stochastic" study you want that does have the two lines, and base the Stochastic on the RSI study. When you do this, the Input for "Input Data for Last" will change to the "RSI Avg" subgraph from the RSI study. If it does not, then make sure it is set properly, or the calculation will not work. Refer to the following: Chart Studies: Settings and Inputs Tab >> Based On - Basing a Study on Another Study For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
