Bracket Failures

I have a bracket with two targets 5 and 20 (So quantity of 2), BE at 17 ticks and a common stop of 15. if I place order and target 1 is reached, I will get a +5 but the second leg is inactive though the bracket remains on the chart. When the +5 is triggered, the BE will be back to the entry price. But trade remains inactive. However IF the price retraces to the original order price (now the BE) then the trade will be triggered and become active again. NORMALLY, both trades are simultaneous but with different targets. Now, the second leg does not activate until price returns to BE. This is causing havoc. What has changed or what have I done wrong? THX Lynn NAthe

We are not understanding this.

but the second leg is inactive though the bracket remains on the chart.
What do you mean by inactive? Is the status of the order, Open or not?

You are making reference to active and inactive and we are not understanding this at all.

To be more clear: I trade a quantity of two. I will call each quantity a leg I have two different targets - 5 and 20 and a common stop of 15. I have a price offset of 17 ticks. I have an escape hatch of 9 and a BE order. If my entry price is reached, the trade begins. Both legs normally run simultaneously until the first target is reached (or until I am stopped out). The last few days, only one leg "activates" or starts accruing or losing points. IF =5 is gained, the second leg still is not "active" though the trade is OPEN. The second leg "activates" ONLY after the price returns to BE. This is as clear as I can be. I cannot trade. I have googled extensively. Can someone call me? I
am happy to pay.

We are still not understanding what you are doing. Your images show quantities of 1 in each case. You do not have a quantity of 2.

It sounds like you are placing two different orders each with a quantity of 1. This would mean that you should have a Stop and Target for each entry order. From what you show, these orders are being placed as Limit orders initially, so they are not actually filled immediately (i.e. they are not market orders). If this is the case, then what is occurring is that the first order is filled and open, but it sounds like the second limit order is not hit yet.

Again, you need to have separate attached orders in this case. And you need to determine if you want to use the "Scale In" and "Scale Out" options. Refer to the following and the section below it:
Attached Orders: Scaling Out

If you want someone to talk to about this, then we recommend one of the people at the following link:

It shows a quantity of one because one has already hit target! Could you possibly even TRY to help me? It seems not.

the only reason why it will not work like you want is that it is not setup correct, instead posting your charts you should post the bracket-settings

We are trying to help you. But we can only respond to the information we know.

How are you entering these orders? It does not make any sense that this could be a single parent order with a quantity of 2 when you have a Limit order showing as unfilled with a quantity of 1.

As LynnsAcct suggests, if you get us an image of your setup for your Trade Window, then that could help us understand what you are doing.

Or, if you tell us what you want to accomplish - exactly - then we can point you in the correct direction. For instance, are you really wanting a single parent Limit order with a quantity of 2 and two targets and a Stop? Or are you wanting something different from this? If different, then what exactly?
