Hello Support Team,

under SC Version 1199 I experience Scale Range problems on opening daily Interactive Brokers Forex Charts. I am using the default scale range settings.

Please refer to:

Any idea how to come back to normal?

Thank you for your consideration,

Best,

Chris

The root of this problem has to do with a bug apparently in Windows 8 which is causing the wrong decimal delimiter being used.

Update Sierra Chart by selecting Help >> Download Prerelease.

After the update, re-download the data with Edit >>Delete All Data and Download.

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately this installation of SC is running on a Windows 7 professional system, not windows 8.

On updating to 1200 prerelease the program would crash with the error message: "not enough memory".

The system runs under 16 GB RAM.

Will try to rollback to 1200 and delete .dly files manually and give feedback.

After having deleted the updated but crashing SC installation and complete new installation SC Version 1200 prerelease (2014/10/14) I find charts opening completely messed up like in this screenshot:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5931986/Forex%20Chart.png

On scrolling the chart will start showing normal bars and scale; on going to end of chart bars and scale will be messed up again, please refer to the screenrecording (50 sec):

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5931986/scaling.wmv

System: Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, SP 1

Deleting .dly data or scid. data and new download would bring up the same effect.

Any idea how to make the chart showing only what it is supposed to show?

Thank you for your consideration,

Best,

Chris

Sierra Chart updated to Version 1201 Prerelease.

Unfortunately the outcome is disappointing: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5931986/version%201201%20prerelease.png

Here what happens in sequence:

1. Opening a new chartbook and opening a new historical chart will result in correct visualization of data.

2. Saving Chartbook, exiting Sierra Chart.

3. Restarting Sierra Chart and reopening the chartbook will result in messed up data; however scrolling the chart will start showing normal bars and scale; on going to end of chart bars and scale will be messed up again.

4. Applying Menu >> Edit >> Delete All Data And Download will result in messed up data - scrolling the chart will NOT bring up any normal bars.

For 3. and 4. please refer to this short screenrecording (54 seconds): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5931986/sc_historical_data_mess.wmv

Hope this helps to trace the problem and solve it.

We apologize for this. But this is clearly a Microsoft bug. And we have to figure out how to work around it.

This is not easy. Microsoft has made a gigantic mistake here.

There is not a need for a video. It is not helpful for us and we did not view it. Keep in mind we are very busy and only need the minimum amount of information.
