I was trying to record market depth data for the US stock symbol “PAPL” (only found via “Find Symbol > US Equities – Consolidated Tape (Delayed/Realtime) > Enter Search Text > Search by Symbol).
I went to "Symbol Settings" to find PAPL so that I can change the “Record Market Depth Data” to “yes” but I couldn’t find it.
I tried adding PAPL using the “new symbol” button but then the settings are blank so I think something's not right. Please help, thanks.

You do need to create a symbol setting for that symbol in order to enable the option for "Record Market Depth Data". To do this, start with the symbol for "????" (no quotes) and then duplicate that symbol to "PAPL".

Then you can modify the symbol settings as you need them.

Although we see you are on Package 3, which does not allow for Market Depth data for U.S. Equities. In order to get the Market Depth data for U.S. Equities, you need to activate both the "NASDAQ TotalView" and "U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape" exchanges and then open a symbol with the suffix of "_MBO" (again, no quotes). So your symbol would be PAPL_MBO. In this case, you would want to copy the "????_MBO" symbol to create the new one.

Refer to the following regarding the exchanges:

Denali Exchange Data Feed: Nasdaq TotalView Data Feed Notes

Denali Exchange Data Feed: U.S. Equities Consolidated Tape with NASDAQ TotalView
