I’m running a scan on the prerelease version over the weekend and finding that the alert keeps triggering even though I have set only alert once per bar. I’m not sure if this also is the case with the latest authorized version. Since the market is closed for Equities, I’m scanning the same bar and expect to only trigger an alert once. Can someone please have a look at this. |

We are not seeing any issue with this in the latest Pre-Release. Keep in mind that you will see the visual cue that there is an alert for each time the situation becomes True, but the actual alert itself will not occur. Are you getting multiple instances of the Alert Sound, or are there multiple instances noted in your "Alert Manager" for the same bar? I’m trying this from an Associated Watch List. Scanning through a list of symbols. From my results this will keep alerting as it cycles through the list, when on the same bar. The Alerts system would work for one Chart / Symbol kept open but not for what I’m trying to do – cycling through the Associated Watch List. Is that correct? Yes, I'm getting multiple instances in the Alert Manager for the same bar - Alert Sounds Well. |

The alert is reset with each change to a new chart. Or, if you prefer, you can think of it as each new symbol is a new bar. So you will get an alert one time each time you change the symbol. But, if you do not change the symbol, then you should not get multiple alerts. This is on purpose, so you can create an alert and scan through a list of symbols and see if the particular condition is true for that symbol. The only way around this would be to create a custom study to control the alert conditions. Thanks for explaining that. If anyone has code snippets that can start /stop the scan and a timer or similar – please add to this thread.
