The alert is reset with each change to a new chart. Or, if you prefer, you can think of it as each new symbol is a new bar. So you will get an alert one time each time you change the symbol. But, if you do not change the symbol, then you should not get multiple alerts. This is on purpose, so you can create an alert and scan through a list of symbols and see if the particular condition is true for that symbol. The only way around this would be to create a custom study to control the alert conditions.
