John
I am on Brian's computer via screenshare. I had him close SC and restart. It opens to example chartbook. I have him call up an instracday nq chart. It loads perfectly, it has the correct price, AND THEN IT STOPS DEAD.... no updates nothing.

1- we know he is connected to data as data loads to the perfect exact price
2- we have checked the firewall
3- when I go to the message log it is totally blank. zippo nada

we need something more than what you have sent

With regards to the Message Log, check the following setting and ensure it is set to "No":
General Settings Window: Disable Visual Message Logging

Then select "Global Settings >> Message Categories" and see if all the items are set to "No". Set any items for which they want to see information to "Yes". Offhand, we recommend keeping them all at Yes, unless you know specifically there is something you do not want. Refer to the following for information on the categories:
Message Categories

With regards to the chart not updating, go through the items at the following link:
Intraday Chart or Chart Bars Not Updating | Blank Intraday Chart | "Currently no data to display" message for Intraday Chart

If further help is needed, then we need the account owner to post directly, so we can see how their account is setup.
