Hello, I run separate instances (3) for separate functions, the type of separate instances where each has their own folders. I run one for ES and one for NQ, both on package 12 data. these two instances are 'all things' charting, orderflow and DOM. I run a third instance for executions only, blank charts and Trade Window only, this instance is for Rithmic execution so I MUST run with Rithmic data. My Q, I am now trading for a REAL prop firm and they require I use CQG WebAPI credentials, is there an efficient way to run a fourth SC version. I understand the rule is I can only run three instances. what is my best and most economical solution? what is my best and additional cost incurring solution? what are all my options for a solution?, please respond based on your expertise and experience of the given scenario. Thank You |

To begin with, the following statement is definitely not correct: I run a third instance for executions only, blank charts and Trade Window only, this instance is for Rithmic execution so I MUST run with Rithmic data.
You can have up to 3 separate installations each getting data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. And you do NOT need to get the data from Rithmic in order to trade with Rithmic. Refer to the following: Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed Connections on Same Computer Simultaneously We wonder, in fact, if you are actually using the Rithmic data in that third installation. In order for this to be the case, you would need to have set "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support For Sierra Chart Data Feeds" to "No". But, given what you are now asking, you may need to keep that 3rd installation set to get Rithmic data (or set it to do so). You are NOT limited in the number of Sierra Chart installations you can have on a single computer. But, as noted above, you are limited to getting the Denali real-time data to 3 installations at the same time on the same computer. Therefore, for what you are stating, you would want the "Rithmic" connection to get the data from Rithmic, that way the other 3 installations (including the one connected to CQG) will get the data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. Keep in mind that we do not support data for CQG for the CME Group and EUREX, which is why you would need to keep that CQG connection using our Denali data. -- We do want to make you aware that we do not know of a general CQG solution for Prop Firms. We have heard of Tradeovate being used, which does use CQG for their back-end. But, in this particular case, Tradeovate does not allow for connectivity with Sierra Chart. So if you are really connecting using Tradeovate and not a generic CQG connection, then this will not work. "We wonder, in fact, if you are actually using the Rithmic data in that third installation. In order for this to be the case, you would need to have set "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support For Sierra Chart Data Feeds" to "No"." THE ABOVE IS SET TO ..... YES, this means I am using DENALI data feed and therefore have three instances on same computer using the Denali feed = I am maxed out on instances. The third instance, the alleged Rithmic instance is set to use Denali to avoid paying TakeProfitTrader (funding firm) for Rithmic Data feed. IS THIS MY SOLUTION? PAY FUNDING FIRM FOR RITHMIC DATE SO THAT I CAN RUN THE REAL PROP FIRM (not a funding firm) CQG WebAPI on third Denali instance? "We do want to make you aware that we do not know of a general CQG solution for Prop Firms. We have heard of Tradeovate being used, which does use CQG for their back-end. But, in this particular case, Tradeovate does not allow for connectivity with Sierra Chart. So if you are really connecting using Tradeovate and not a generic CQG connection, then this will not work."THIS IS MOST LIKELY BECAUSE THE FIRM I AM NOT A PART OF IS A REAL PROP FIRM, PROFESSIONAL TRADING, NOT A FUNDING FIRM LIKE APEX AND TOPSTEP, ETC. THE REAL PROP FIRM GAVE ME A CQG USERNAME AND PASSWORD AND SPECIFICALLY HAD ME SET UP WITH CQG CREDENTIALS TO USE THE CQG Web API IN FILE >> DATA/TRADE SERVICE SETTINGS. "Keep in mind that we do not support data for CQG for the CME Group and EUREX, which is why you would need to keep that CQG connection using our Denali data". CORRECT, THE REAL PROP FIRM SPECIFICALLY TOLD ME TO USE DENALI DATA UNTIL I AM TRAINED AND GIVEN LIVE DATA CREDENTIALS. |

Given the above, you have two choices. 1. Keep everything on one computer. This means setting the option for "Allow Support For Sierra Chart Data Feeds" to "No" for the Rithmic connection, so the data to that system will come from Rithmic. Then the 4th installation which will be connected to CQG will use the Denali data. 2. Use two different computers. This would require paying a second set of exchange fees, but it will allow you to get the Denali data to all your instances. You can have up to 3 instances on one computer, so how you separate them is up to you (3 and 1, 2 and 2). Refer to the following: Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed on Two Computers Simultaneously For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
