Dear Support,

I have 5 Charts in a sort of manual walk-forward test. All are linked = 1 and Scroll = Yes.
Charts are typically, 240m, 60m, 10m, 5m and 2m with Next Bar being advanced via the right H. Scroll Bar at the bottom of the 2 minute chart .... which is also the smaller timeframe.

Here is the issue when manually advancing the chart bar by bar with focus on the 2 min.

Accounting for the composition of bars to timeframes the bodies 'current Close/Last Price' across my charts are inconsistent and in addition the Price presented in the Price Col. (Y-Axis) is also different for each chart which will be the source of the issue.

I expect bar replay would be the solution however I should that I'm not using bar replay as I'm experiencing issues here also.

For example using [To Next Bar] or [To Next Time Increment 00:02:00:000] on the Bar Replay control with focus on the 2m Chart selected does nothing. Only the Bar Replay Speed has an impact.
Settings are [All Charts in Chartbook] and [Accurate Trading System Back Test Mode] and [Speed = 1] as I want to advance 1 bar at a time.
I've also tried using Standard reply and other permutations but the times are not synchronised across charts either and the [By Time hh:mm:ss:ms] / [To Next Bar] and [To Next Time Increment unit 00:02:00:000] along with the >> button has no impact.

Speed (n) Play however does advance the bars as expected.

I'm probably making a simple error but help and direction appreciated.

Many thanks.

We do not understand what exactly you are trying to do here or what the exact issue is.

If you use the Jump option of "To Next Bar" then all charts that are being replayed will move to their respective next bar. So if you are at 09:00:00 in the replay and jump to the next bar, then the 2 minute chart will jump to the 09:02:00 bar, the 5 minute chart will jump to the 09:05:00 bar, and so on. This means that the charts are now out of sync.

If you use the Jump option of "To Next Time Increment", then everything should stay in sync and all the charts will adjust to that next time period (09:02:00 in the example given above).

Hi John.

But nothing moves when I use either the Jump option of "To Next Bar" or "To Next Time Increment".

However, if they did move using the Jump "To Next Bar" I can now appreciate from what you've said that this will move to the next bar on the chart thus losing time-sync between charts.

So the solution would seem to be:

If you use the Jump option of "To Next Time Increment", then everything should stay in sync and all the charts will adjust to that next time period (09:02:00 in the example given above).

But again setting the time increment and using >> does not increment the 'Last Price' across all charts and hence the appropriate number of bars as the above would suggest. For example: 'To Next Time Increment' 00:05:00:000 >> does not produce 3 bars on the 2 min and 1 on the 5 min. I am not seeing any changes in the bars and 'Last Price' which is where I'm getting confused.

Many thanks.

What are your Replay Settings for "Charts to Replay" and "Replay Mode"?

Hi John,

I think I've identified the issue which was down to inadvertently moving between Historical and Intraday on chart 1.

Initial Charts loaded: 240m, 60m, 10m, 5m, 2m. These charts are also link = 1 with scroll position selected.

Settings:

1) All Charts in Chartbook, Standard Replay, Use StartDate-Time (not used here), Jump Method (To Next Bar or To Next Time Increment), Speed = 1.

2) Scroll back to location as not using 'Use StartDate-Time'.

3) Select Play.

Now all Charts are in-sync and remain so while advancing by the chosen method that is except the To-Next-Bar which breaks sync as expected.

However, I think this was the issue:

1) On changing Chart 1 the 240m to a 1D chart synchronisation is lost across all charts in the replay and the 1D Chart price begins fluctuating.

2) Alternatively, if Chart 1 the 240m is changed to a 1440m chart then synchronisation remains.

I hadn't realised the impact that the keyboard shortcut '1D' was having. Changing the shortcut instead to 1440m retained the chart as Intraday.

All seems okay. Thank you for your help.
